Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This class is full of personality! They come in every morning ready to explore and learn. We have a great mix of backgrounds which create a diverse room of learners.
Our room is full of inquisitive talkers, thinkers and explorers who have questions about the world around them and love to push their learning to new heights.
We have a supportive school and neighborhood community. Parents are involved in our school and we have a great PTO that has monthly activities for families.
We have some students who need additional support within our classroom. These supports can be a staff member, fidget tool, extended work and answer times, or alternative seating.
My Project
These stools will help to funnel student energy into learning. Students who use these stools need fewer external stimulus to regulate themselves during class. The students in this classroom already use the single stool we have and want to be the first to ask for it everyday. They are so excited for the arrival of additional stools. Many students today have difficulty focusing in the classroom and the stools help to direct their body's energy in a positive way so that their minds can concentrate on academic tasks. I hope to continue to increase the number of stools for my classroom so that as many students can have the opportunity to use one as would like to.
