With our school having families with a low Socioeconomic status and a high ESL population, we recognize that our students have difficulty getting necessary hygiene products that they usually need and even clothes.
I want to provide a hygiene closet to my school to help educate them about the importance of personal hygiene and provide the resources they need.
Our students need to have someplace they can go to get items they need to stay healthy and happy at school and home. I also want to help our school by providing clothes to our students in need so they can feel comfortable and confident in school.
My Project
With these materials, I am going to help stock my school's clothes closet and hygiene closet to help our students who may be suffering from homelessness.
Students need easy access to their daily essentials.
Students facing homelessness don't focus on clean clothes or the toiletry items that may be too expensive. Many of our students only have one or two school outfits to wear and often come to school with their clothes stained or dirty. Providing items such as hair accessories, floss or mouthwash is an expense that parents wont have to worry about.
The label maker will be used to help organize and keep everything in its place in the clothes closet and help other faculty quickly find what their students need. The ziplock baggies will be utilized by the students that are going "shopping" and getting their hygiene products.
