My Students

My Panda Classroom has both 2nd and 3rd grade students. My students are in GALA's Mandarin immersion program - which means that they learn all core subjects (Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts) in Mandarin for the majority of the day, about 4 hours daily.

My students are curious, excited, and love to learn.

They are incredibly funny and smart and enjoy learning in Mandarin every day.

My classroom incorporates a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met.

My Project

A classroom meeting area on an inviting and comfortable classroom carpet helps to create a positive and happy learning environment and also provides a nice and cozy place to meet and share with friends.

We will use the carpet area daily for morning meeting, group activities, free play, reading, and gathering for discussion.

Currently, my classroom has a very small and plain carpet that is not big enough to comfortably fit all of the Panda class students. It will be such a gift to have a bigger and more colorful carpet to brighten up the classroom.
