Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are inspiring. They've been through a lifetime of experiences, yet they're only in high school. Many have moved from other countries and had to adapt to their new environment in the United States. The majority of them are living in low-income households and have part-time jobs.
After overcoming incredible obstacles, I'm amazed that these students show up every day and I want to give them the educational opportunities they deserve.
Life for them has been hard enough already, and I want to get them their best chance for success.
My Project
Our district is hosting this year's graduation ceremony in the school gymnasium. Our parents and students can't picture it yet, but with your help, we can transform our gym into a formal ceremony venue. Help seniors who have worked relentlessly get the ceremony they deserve! With a limited budget, I'm concerned that the decorations will be minimal.
