Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The students that I have the blessing to work with daily are extensions of their community. They are predominately students of color who come from environments farrowed with barriers to their development. These barriers are included but are not limited to mental health needs such as stress, trauma, anxiety and social emotional deficits.

Eighty-five percent of my student population receive free and reduced lunch and more than half are below grade level with regards to academic proficiency.

They need support to improve their overall outcomes. Resources however can be difficult to come by and funding even more so. My students require a unique approach and delivery when providing them support that nurtures their ability for healthy self-expression.

My Project

I need a printer that will allow me to print colored resources and support materials that will be engaging for our students. Specifically I would like to be able to create stickers, posters, brochures, manuals and a variety of other tangible resources that my students need to increase their overall engagement and encourage their interaction with school based activities and topics. Having a printer of this caliber will allow me to provide students with these resources in a timely fashion at no cost to me. I will be able to really get the attention of my students and parent community.
