My Students

My students are learning from home using whatever technology they can get their hands on. Students meet with me once a week via Zoom, and they access their assignments in Google Classroom.

Individual circumstances vary greatly from household to household.

Some of my students haven't left their homes since the governor gave the "shelter in place" order; some have started working thirty-hour weeks; some have become the primary caregivers for younger siblings.

I don't know what will happen in the fall, but for now, taking care of my students and providing the best distance learning opportunities possible are my number one responsibilities.

My Project

I'd like to try something new this year. Instead of presenting my detective fiction elective from a historical perspective, I would like to deliver it from a modern perspective.

We need copies of: The Cheerleaders, One of Us is Lying and A Good Girl's Guide to Murder.

SIM cards, Chrome tabs, SnapChat. The plots of these books unwind in the world of today's teenager.

Today's high school students often question the relevance of what they learn in the classroom. These contemporary titles will help students to understand structure and characterization in settings that they understand.

Because of the likelihood of remote, or at least hybrid learning, I need enough books for students to learn at home.
