Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My prekindergarten students are curious, energetic, and enthusiastic learners who are experiencing school for the very first time.
Having the privilege of being my students' first educator, I am entrusted with providing an enriching experience for our students despite the constraints that learning from home through a video camera pose for preschoolers with disabilities.
It is my mission to create an environment for students so they can learn at home and be ready to return to school when it is safe.
My Project
My students are learning at home in a city with limited resources and I want to send gifts for Christmas that students can use to learn about and identify their emotions during remote instruction.
Students will have hand held photographs of children displaying various emotions to help them identify how they are feeling.
In preschool, social-emotion learning is integrated throughout the curriculum, and in my classroom for students with Autism, it is always an area that is challenging for me to teach and for students to learn. These materials will be sent home with students as part of a holiday gift package of learning materials. These are much needed, as we have been out of school since March and families need hands-on materials to assist with learning at home.
