My students are some of the brightest, funniest, most caring kids you will ever meet! They come to school with vivacious energy for learning every day. I do my best to keep up with my young scholars to keep them engaged and as excited for school as the first time they walked into my classroom. My students need a carpet to gather around in our classroom for instruction and community! Having a comfortable place to sit as a class together is so important to enrich our reading instruction and to encourage our classroom community.
My students need a carpet to gather around for comfortable whole group instruction and for classroom meetings where we build our community.
I am so excited to be starting my second year of teaching third grade! I am also very excited to be moving out of the former computer lab (where I taught my first year of third grade) and into a formal classroom! However, the classroom I am moving in to is all tile. With the reading program we are starting this year a carpet space is vital to its success. Students will be much more focused and comfortable during instructional conversation if they have a warm and inviting place to sit and gather.
Not only will we be using this carpet during reading instruction but for morning meetings and restorative circles, which are important parts of building a cohesive classroom community. My students need to learn to communicate and resolve their problems peacefully through these activities which will happen around this carpet.
Not only will this carpet be a vital part of my classroom, it will be around for years to come! Being a Lakeshore product it meets all fire safety standards required by my district and has a ten year warranty. This carpet will be appreciated for years to come by hundreds of students!
