Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a group of that need a place to gather to learn. They are curious about the world and what it has to offer and need encouragement and motivation. They love hands on and small group lessons where we can focus with more intensity.
My students enjoy sharing what they know with one another and are encouraged to do so in cooperative small group and whole group lessons.
They are encouraged to look out for one another and check to be sure their groups are turning in their work. They are learning through vocabulary, writing, reading, math concepts, science investigations, and social studies interaction.
Wanting to develop a sense of community and the desire to share and learn, I want students to feel safe, feel proud, and be accountable. This Donors Choose project will help students with organization and provide a gathering place for cooperative learning.
My Project
This rug will provide a foundation for cooperative learning and create a sense of community in the classroom for students during small and whole-group learning. Having a rug as a meeting place in front of the smart board to interact with partners for turn and talk activities and interaction with their peers in whole group lessons with designated areas will also with structure in the classroom.
My project will provide students with a structured place to meet to share what they have learned and how they relate to their learning with one another.
