This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I always seem to get the sweetest classes ever! I have 78 4th grade students. We are currently 100% in-person. After spending the majority of our previous school year at home, we are behind academically.
We are a Title I school which means that most students come from low-income households.
Our school receives free breakfast and lunch daily. We have so much fun in my class, and the kids love to learn! Please help me to teach them in fun and engaging ways.
My Project
As an educator, I have students who request something to eat throughout the school day. This donation will help feed students as they learn. I don't want food to be a barrier for my students' learning.
New Orleans, Louisiana has a high poverty rate, among other barriers that our students are facing on a daily basis.
Hunger should not be one of them. A full belly will help the students to concentrate on what they are learning. Working in an urban school district has taught me to advocate for my students.
