My Students
I teach in a rural community that serves a variety of students with varied abilities! I teach a wonderful community of first graders! In our classroom, each student is valued and an essential component of what makes our "classroom team." In our classroom, Team means "Together, everyone achieves more!" We work together, play together, read together, write together, smile together, learn together; yet, most importantly, succeed together!

My Project
The requested materials will support our classroom learning as we adapt to new routines this school year. First and foremost, our health and safety is the foundation of daily learning. There are many uncertainties due to the current pandemic; therefore, I have requested PPE materials that will be used in our classroom to combat the transmissions of germs. In addition, to reduce those transmissions, our classroom has transitioned to implement more digital platforms as part of our daily learning. With the implementation of varied digital platforms, I (as the educator) am using more technology based instruction. I have requested materials such as a laptop stand, voice amplifier, and presentation clicker to support our digital based instruction/learning. That, too, will support our weekly “Digital Learning Day” instruction in which students learn digitally.
The laptop stand, presentation clicker, and voice amplifier will make it easier to present and complete virtual/digital instruction and activities.
Each school year, I create yearly goals as part of a professional growth plan. One of the goals, this year, is to implement more economics/financial literacy units in daily learning. As adults, we know the essentials of understanding and applying financial literacy in our daily lives. My goal is to “lay the foundation” for my students in their understanding of financial literacy. I have requested kid-friendly financial literacy books that I plan to read, implement, and create activities in correspondence to key ideas that support financial literacy. I am hoping to get these classroom basics for my students to enhance our school year.
