My Students
My students are a group of fourth graders who are highly motivated when they know they are cared about.
The school is 100% economically disadvantaged and most of our students rely on the meals, snacks, and supplies they receive at school because oftentimes they are not able to be provided them at home.
Many of my students come to school after facing challenging obstacles in their home lives. These problems often find their way into the classroom. Some are homeless, some live in shelters, others are latchkey kids with no adult home for several hours after they arrive home or they are responsible for taking care of their younger siblings while their parents are working.
My Project
My students love being in our colorful classroom. I am requesting card stock and large post-it’s to display student work so that it is easily visible.
We are in a temporary building and this makes it difficult to display student work and to hang storage.
The drill would be a useful tool because it would be strong enough to penetrate the walls. The stools will be used by students at our small group table. This would make the kids proud of there room. The sharpie markers will be used for student projects. The snacks and hygiene products will be used for students’ basic needs. With these materials, I will be able to ensure that my students are motivated and ready to learn.
