My Students
I have the pleasure of teaching twenty-four, super, smart first graders. Unfortunately, my students come from a high poverty, low socioeconomic community. Ninety-nine percent of my students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Despite these circumstances, my children are full of spirit and have positive attitudes about learning. They absolutely love coming to school.
These first graders come in each morning with hugs and big smiles on their faces.
They are eager to learn and love for me to teach them new things. I want to make their learning experiences as meaningful and fun as possible.
My Project
When my students return to school, they are going to need new school supplies. During this distant learning time, students have used what supplies they have at home, and parents have not been able to get out and buy their children new supplies. I have high hopes of returning to school this school year, and I would love for my students to have new crayons, scissors, glue sticks, and other basic supplies to have a fresh start. We are also asking for cleaning supplies and air fresheners to keep our classroom safe and clean.
With supplies on hand, students can get back to a normal routine.
