Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This year I have the pleasure of teaching an amazing group of students with autism and I am super excited! I have a class of 9 students all with unique abilities. I have students who are nonverbal and students who are starting to be included in general education classrooms.
In spite of language, academic, and behavioral challenges my students with autism face, they are all eager to learn new things.
This will be my third year teaching students with autism and I love working with them. They surprise me every day with things that they are learning.
My Project
The books and CDs will be added to our ever-growing listening center in our classroom. A listening center is a place my students enjoy spending time. They are able to independently listen and flip through some of their favorite book titles during this time. All these books have been chosen with my students' interests in mind.
Creating forever books for students to use.
Since my students like to be a little rough with our class books. The lamination sheets will be used to laminate the pages of the books, to enhance the longevity of the books. Each book will be taken apart so that each page can be laminated, including the covers and then rebound.
