The students in our classroom are passionate young learners who crave any opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge. These kiddos enjoy the freedom to make independent choices resulting in an increase of ownership in their learning. Their excitement fuels my desire to make every day the best day for them by providing authentic experiences and giving them my undevoted attention.
The three words that describe the students who walk through our doors are fast, fun, and friendly.
A continually changing society creates a learning environment that is also evolving. Our students are incredibly receptive to learning at a fast pace and adapting to their new surroundings. "Fun" is how students describe their academic journey in our classroom. I strive to make every day an enjoyable and memorable experience with authentic learning. My goal is to create a community that fosters a safe and friendly atmosphere where students learn how to manage their personal learning and take risks with their peers.
My Project
I like providing students the option to choose where they sit and learn best each day. The most sought-after spot in our current classroom is a table where students can stand. Students like movement and I would like to provide another opportunity for students to learn at a space they enjoy. The table would give us collaborative space and the balance balls give them the mobility they desire.
Collaboration is at its pinnacle when students have the space to work together.
Giving them this choice will further their independence and allow for more control in their personal growth of learning.
