Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hola! I teach Spanish and Pathways to Success in a rural community with lots of diversity! My students love hands on learning and flexible seating. I've implemented and been trained on station rotation, blended learning and flexible seating. I'm thrilled to dig in even deeper this semester and provide the very BEST learning environment I possibly can for my students.
My students will love being even more engaged in learning through flexible seating!
Many of my students are first generation or come from high poverty homes where they have never had experience with comfortable seating - much less in an educational environment. Creating a safe and beautiful environment in my classroom will help them know that with hard work, focus and dedication they have what it takes to succeed. Not all of my learners prefer a desk - therefore by implementing different seating options, the focus can be where it belongs... on learning!

My Project
My diverse students would love your help! I teach Spanish and a Scholarship Success class in a diverse rural community. My students love to engage with flexible seating! The lap desks, balance balls, and bean bags will allow students choice when they are working. The harsh lighting distracts some students. Lamps will have a positive impact on the ambiance of my classroom. They benefit and learn better from comfortable choice seating. Through implementing more flexible seating, my students are more engaged than ever before and are making great strides to their language acquisition and scholarship success goals!
I have students and work with people from Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Colombia and more!
My goal is to include flags in my room from each of my students' birth countries. I can't wait to celebrate culture in a comfortable environment. My first generation scholarship students earned over $300,000 last year - these items will help them focus and continue to move forward towards success! Gracias!
