Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Remember keeping your pencil case with unsharpened pencils because your own personal pencil sharpener didn't work? Help us keep our pencils ready to write away!
I am a special education teacher in an Integrated Co-Teaching classroom at a Title I school in New York City.
My incoming students are very eager, energetic, curious, outspoken 2nd grade students. They all have different strengths, weaknesses, and needs that I would like to address.
My Project
Having a pencil dispenser will make things easier and less time consuming when picking a pencil. An electric sharpener is fast and efficient. I would like to make their lives a little easier by having their pencils ready to go every morning. The magnetic calendar we need for our daily math routines. The scissors I am requesting will help my students with low fine motor skills. The colored bins will hold the kids' writing folders in the writing center.
If we receive this project, we will not only have part of our math center complete, but it will be visual and easy to use.
Meeting the needs of children is my goal and providing them with an alternative scissor, if needed, can make a difference in their lives. Arranging their writing folders according to tables will keep our kids organized. With a class pencil sharpener and pencil dispenser, our students' pencils will be ready to go every day!
