Help me give my students a few of their favorite books! There is nothing like reading an actual book to a child who is ready to learn. Online read-alouds and videos just don't compare!
I teach the sweetest group of kindergarteners! I've waited a long time to be able to teach my dream job, and it's finally here. My class is special because every year they develop such a great bond. This year we've had to try even harder to create the classroom community we love so much, while still social distancing.
They've done such a good job becoming a family, while still staying separate and safe, that I'd love to reward them with this Donor's Choose grant.
I can't wait to teach them the skills that will further develop our special bond.
My favorite thing about children this age is their adaptability. They are so resilient and can adapt to any changes that come their way. This is especially true this year. I want to nurture their natural curiosity so that it isn't wasted and give them a foundation they can build upon for years to come.
My Project
These materials will make such a difference to my students! We love online read-alouds and videos when we have to use them, but there is nothing like actually reading with a new book in your hands. We also need a few things for any new students that come along, including a few more chair-back buddies!
My students will be so happy to sit on the reading carpet again and share a few new stories.
They love to be read to and this will further their love of learning. We love to take picture walks before we read, make predictions out the story's outcome and visualize with our eyes closed. These titles go along with some of our favorite series.
