This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have the pleasure of teaching 24 super smart first graders. Unfortunately, my students come from a high-poverty, low socioeconomic community. Ninety-nine percent of my students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Despite these circumstances, my children are full of spirit and have positive attitudes about learning. They absolutely love coming to school.
These first graders come in each morning with hugs and big smiles on their faces.
They are eager to learn and love for me to teach them new things. I want to make their learning experiences as meaningful and fun as possible.
My Project
We are asking for a few basic school supplies to start the new year. First graders always enjoy getting new school supplies. We are asking for notebooks, paper, pens, erasers, and dry erase markers.
With notebooks and pens, they will do their very best writing.
With new dry erase markers and erasers, they will try their hardest to get a problem correct. First graders love to work on dry erase boards, and with new markers and erasers, they will be even more excited to show their very best work.
