A Dynamic, Interactive, and Engaging Online Learning Experience
Help me give my students a dynamic, interactive, and engaging online learning experience while we are completely remote, which will continue when we return to the building with a MacBook Pro.
I am a math teacher at a large urban technical high school in central Massachusetts. Our school has a very diverse student population. My students are bright, enthusiastic, motivated, and willing to learn. They come from varying socio-economic backgrounds with differing degrees of access to technology, which presents challenges when trying to give every student the same opportunities as we've become more reliant technology, especially during the uncertain times of this pandemic. I want to create an environment that breaks from tradition and empowers the students with multiple paths for learning while giving them the best remote learning experience that I can.
My Project
Please help me create a dynamic, interactive, and engaging online learning experience for my students. During these uncertain times, our school district has chosen to be completely remote for at least the first ten weeks of the school year. I would like to use this time to learn to create exciting lessons, videos, and activities that will keep my students engaged and give them the best online learning experience possible.
I have taken classes and have been in trainings where technology was used creatively and effectively to present the material.
I would love to bring that dynamic to my classroom. While I've tried to implement these strategies and practices in my own instruction, I have been unsuccessful, mostly due to the limitations of the technology that is available to me. Through conversations with professors and instructors, I have found that the best tool for creating lessons is a MacBook, which is why I am asking for one. Using a Macbook, I will be able to create these new lessons that will keep the students engaged and allow me to better support both the students and their families while they learn remotely.
