This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Save trees and paper and help us master our math using dry erase markers!

My students this year are 100% English Language Learners, or "ELD." Unfortunately, most of my students are socio-economically disadvantaged and face many challenges.

Although life deals them many hardships, they come to class each day with bright eyes and willing spirits. They are eager to learn and humble in nature. I am honored to be their teacher!

My Project

In order to instantly check for understanding, we commonly work math problems on white boards. When I call for, "Boards up" my students display their whiteboards to me. This strategy allows me to instantly identify which students are struggling, and helps me to focus my instruction. Unfortunately, pens are expensive, dry-up or at times get lost. If I was to have a supply on hand, it would be a huge blessing!

These pens are so very vital to my daily instruction!

In a classroom of 34 students, it's essential to take quick and accurate readings of my students' understanding. These pens enable my students to receive the instant intervention that they both need and deserve.
