Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We have a class full of students who love to learn new things each day and enjoy working in small groups. Every day we work in stations in order to build our reading, writing, and math skills. They play word games, work on Boogies Boards, and use our two iPads. Our school is in a low income neighborhood, most of the students receive reduced or free lunch so many do not have access to these types of activities at home. They are learning more and more each day so this requires more and more station activities. They enjoy sharing the iPads but I would like to give more students the opportunity to use technology during station time. We are requesting two OSMO learning systems to revamp our station time.
My Project
This OSMO learning system will build new brain pathways as my students learn in a different way. They can build, code and draw using this system. It will also give them a sense of learning independence while using the tools that come with the system. This system is set up for play, my students will be learning as they “play” on the OSMO system. It will make station time more exciting and all of the students will look forward to this time each day. Learning through technology is a great way to build new brain pathways because the students are learning in a different way.
