Our school serves a diverse population of students of all abilities from over 15 different zip codes. Students travel far to be part of our inclusive model community. This is the first year where our band elective has grown so quickly there is now a waiting list of 20 students to get into the 6th-8th grade band elective. As our ensemble continues to grow, our need for supplies grows too.
We want each student to get the support they need to be successful.
The band elective class has students who are just beginning and students who have been playing for several years, students who can read and write music proficiently and students who need additional modification and support to access the curriculum. Despite these wide ranges of experience, one thing all our students have in common is a desire to learn and be successful in music!
Students in this class are very supportive of each other, mentor each other, and encourage each other to progress, ignite passion, and create positive experiences they will remember forever.
My Project
Our school recently got it's first pair of crash cymbals. Now we need a place to put them when not in use. An orchestral crash cymbal cradle stand is the perfect solution!
Students who play the orchestral crash cymbals in our ensembles will have a place to safely and quietly rest the stands when not in use.
Having this particular stand solves several issues that having crash cymbals creates. The stand will keep the cymbals safe and the music room organized. It will also make it easier for students to pick the heavy cymbals up and rest them quietly while maintaining good posture. Additionally, it will allow percussionists to transition between auxiliary instruments more efficiently/effectively throughout a given piece.
Our ensemble is very excited to have our own set of orchestral crash cymbals. Now we just need the cradle stand to let us rest easy and rock out.
