Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are some of the best high school students in our school and in our town. A typical day in my class is organized kayos encourage my students to work at their own pace while reflecting on their work and progress. They come in grab their projects, supplies and quickly get to work on their art projects.
My school is an average general high school in a district with many school/educational choices, so my kids are the ones who were not chosen by the selective enrollment schools, but that does not reflect on their intellect or enthusiasm for education.
My school is overcrowded and underfunded, that is just typical of urban education in this economy. I joke with my kids all the time only the best students in the school take my classes, but that kidding is stemmed in fact. My students are hard working and want to learn as much as they can, they regularly work on projects during their lunch, before, and after school. Most of the students who come to classroom on their free time come here to work on homework for other
My Project
Art education is quickly changing by innovations in technology that have evolved and expanded my student's definition of art. The traditional ideas if drawing, painting, and sculpture are not gone but they are now foundations for creating the amazing ideas in their heads and hearts.
I believe every one of my students is a creator and the Circut Maker will transform our classroom studio into a space for students to experiment with ideas, try new things, and generate ideas.
One of the main intentions for Circut Maker is self-directed learning, for students to take their ideas in the direction they want.
