My STARS, which is what I call my students! Each of my STARS shines bright in unique ways. They beam with curiosity, talents, culture, and determination! My students are delightfully diverse! My school is a place embodying families from around the world, and where over thirty languages are represented. We are a high poverty, Title I, low-income school. Our families are hard working people who are often struggling to get by. Eighty-nine percent of our students receive free or reduced lunch. My STAR’S families are eager to have their children sees opportunities to grow their knowledge and develop the skills necessary for success!
I am so honored to accompany and support my STARS through this educational and life skill journey!
My Project
My beautifully diverse and hard working students need instruction that is attained and developed using fast, current, reliable, and engaging technology. A Microsoft Surface Pro with a keyboard will allow me to utilize a vast variety of resources that will accompany our school curriculum and my lesson designs, creating quality instruction.
I am requesting a Microsoft Surface Pro and a keyboard that will will support my teaching and allow me to quickly assess my student's learning.
Currently, I have an older model that was passed down to me; however, it is shorting out which is unfixable. With a new and updated Microsoft Surface Pro, my students can continue to be engaged through videos, up to date content, materials that connect to their cultural background, and language tools. The cool part about this device is that it’s mobile; I can work with it in and out of the classroom making student group work easy to monitor and colleague collaboration easier! In addition, I will be able to monitor student progress, communicate with families, and create powerful lessons.
