First grade is full of magic. I have 26 students in my classroom this year and they are ready to learn. It is amazing to watch each child's progress during the year.
My school is one of the largest school districts in California.
These students come from diverse backgrounds and many of them do not have access to science materials. Our school receives free lunch. We have 67% Hispanic population. Some students come from homes that only speak Spanish.
Our school has some parent involvement and an after school program that is limited to how many students they enroll. The after school program is a lottery system and only two of my current students are enrolled in the program. The program provides students with extra tutoring and homework help
My students are a very creative. I would like to get the Cricut Explore Air to use in our classroom. I know my students could really benefit from even more hand on learning. I am always trying to create fun and engaging activities for our classroom and with this machine, I can quickly cut out materials for all of our projects. We will be learning about animals this spring and I we would like to create animal art. This machine hooks up to a computer so the students can create their project online and then it see it turn into their masterpiece on paper.
