This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a school that receives Title I funding and free breakfast and lunch. Gangs, drugs, and violence are always within close proximity. In the midst of this pandemic, they show up every day to class and display a great deal of energy and enthusiasm for learning. I want every second of their learning to be filled with rich experiences.

Many students have never been on a playdate and lack the valuable social experiences that interacting with kids their age can provide.

Some have two working parents or a single parent who is unable to take them to the nearby park or playground because of a demanding work schedule. The current pandemic is preventing them from developing the crucial life skills that are needed to thrive.

My Project

My Pre-K students are learning how to keep themselves safe and healthy while enjoying their very first school experience. I want it to be memorable and stress-free by helping to provide crucial supplies to maintain their physical as well as mental health. With these Covid prevention supplies we will lessen the time it takes to send students to the office for bandaids, masks, icepacks, and temperature checks. This valuable time will instead be used for safe and healthy human interactions that our students so desperately need. Please help us achieve this goal with your generous donation!
