My Students

My first graders come from a variety of backgrounds. Some come from higher-income homes, while others come from the opposite. We often get students in the middle of the year due to living near a military base. Because of this, my students are resilient, adaptable, and eager to learn.

My Project

As an individual, I prefer to have an organized and tidy space. Why should kids expectations be any different when it comes to their workspace/classroom? This project focuses primarily on organization and connection throughout our classroom community. I have noticed a tremendous difference in the work ethic of my students when they are in a cluttered, overwhelming and chaotic classroom, versus a well stocked, organized, and welcoming classroom. Modeling organization is the best way to teach its benefits to our students. I hope to have a bright, open, welcoming classroom that way we can focus on connection and learning.
