This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a big city in a low income/ high poverty school, my special needs students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with tools and materials that encourage creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My class consists of 11 special need students.

We need and deserve the opportunities for learning just like our general ed peers. We want a computer, (or two!!)

My Project

Our classroom needs an additional computer, and additional learning opportunity for All of the class. Presently, some of our peers are less mobile and for group lessons around our computer, it is more of a challenge. Often we do mini lessons to enhance our learning. Individual time is also a component built into our classroom day.

A laptop/notebook would be more flexible to meet the needs for all our classmates, mobile for our classroom learning environment, and our classmates individualized learning challenges.

We all enjoy the use of our present computer, having an additional unit available, would greatly enhance our many opportunities.
