My students need this tiller as we build our school community garden. They will be cultivating row crops during the fall/winter, and again during the spring time. For summer, community members will join in!

My students are amazing because they come from a challenging background but arrive at school everyday ready to learn and make an impact. As an inner-city school, diversity is limited and so are their experiences. I love how teaching them about the world sparks their fascination and drives my students to learn more.
My school is bare bones with a ton of potential, including staff and administration to support it!
All we need is the backing to make things happen. I teach 5th grade math, but my whole team is on board to do anything to get our school out of low performing. Teachers have come to us from other grade levels to join in making this possible. As a STEAM school, we are encouraged to take learning away from just paper and pencil, so I know we have the support to make our projects happen.
Students at our school are hooked on processed snacks, social media, and music. But we know we can use these things to our advantage! We can teach them about gardening, how to use technology responsibly, and inspire creativity in the arts.
Community gardens are amazing tools for learning, and we are excited to have one under construction at our school. Currently, our school has minimal landscaping with grass and a few trees. There are almost 4 acres of land available for us to cultivate! This tiller will break ground for this giant project.
Through this garden, we will put authentic learning to science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) in prekindergarten through 5th grade classes.
Students will learn sustainability, responsibility, and put classroom learning to work! This tiller will be used at the start of each season as students work the ground for seasonal crops of their choice.
