I teach in a Title I school in an urban district. My students come to school every day excited to be a part of our close classroom community where we all feel like family. They come from different backgrounds and with different learning difficulties. All of my students are hardworking and dedicated learners.
My third graders love to read and enjoy sitting around the classroom in comfortable flexible-seating spots.
They enjoy learning and trying new things, and do their best thinking when in unique seats!
My Project
My third graders are excitable, energetic, and can be a bit antsy. They love to get up and move during daily movement breaks and while completing independent tasks. I'd love to be able to provide them with more opportunities to work around the classroom.
The materials I chose for this project will allow for some healthy fidgeting while students are listening to direct instruction at the seat and will allow a comfy seat to think that isn't the typical desk and chair.
I've also included some "travel toothbrushes" to give my students a place to store their pencils to avoid losing them and to help keep them organized. I am excited to provide my class with these awesome materials and provide them with an even more enthralling learning experience!
