Help me give my students a comfortable bench to read their library books.
"Teachers who love teaching, teach children who love learning." As I enter my 20th year of teaching, I continue to follow this mantra in my classroom. I teach 28 wonderful students who come from poverty. My students are from varying ethnic backgrounds. Most of them come from homes that are struggling financially.
My students are extremely motivated, and they are genuinely respectful of each other.
They are lovers of learning, and I am truly grateful to be their teacher this year. They come to school with smiles on their faces, and they are eager to learn. We need new books to use in our literacy centers.
My students and I need a comfortable bench for them to use during independent reading time. The students can choose from sitting on the carpet, at their desks, laying on the floor or sitting in a wiggle chair. This bench will allow for the students to have another option to use while reading silently.
Flexible seating allows the students to take charge of their learning and make smart choices that work best for them.
Making sure the students are comfortable is very important to me. The students focus better on their reading when they are comfortable. This bench will also provide much needed storage for my classroom library.
