My Students

I am a teacher to 25 amazing 1st graders! My students come in each and every day excited to learn! They are our future leaders, doctors, musicians, entrepreneurs, teachers, ambassadors, world travelers, etc. These kiddos are our future, and I want to provide them with a great start to a successful career!

Our town population is approximately seventy-five thousand with seventeen elementary schools in the district.

The diversity at our school comes from the economic levels with approximately 45% of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunches.

My Project

For the past three years, my students have met on a carpet that is too small for us to be comfortable to learn. Having the new rug will give each of my students their own personal space during meetings, mini lessons, etc.

The new carpet will not only benefit my students by allowing them to have their own space, but it will also allow them to practice their social-emotional skills throughout the day.

This is the place we meet to greet each other for the day, wish others well, discuss highs and lows of the day, and learn skills to help us be successful in and out of the classroom.
