The mind is active and so are the students at my school. I like activating my students' minds and bodies by planning engaging lessons that require us to roll up our sleeves, and sometimes, get dirty. This project is about putting students first and considering their needs.
I work at an Arts Integration School in Maui, Hawaii.
I teach 5th grade students of mixed backgrounds and ethnicity. I feel truly blessed to teach these creative and diverse minds. This project will help my amazing student have an amazing year!
My Project
My students are hands on learners and we love to use water colors in the classroom. We use arts integration projects such as stop-motion to make a subject like social studies come alive in my class! We create water backgrounds and small water color pieces to make this happen. The art mixed with research and learning creates learning that lasts. Also daily we work in visual journals in order to express our learning and emotions visual. We spend about 15 min each day with with different art tools such as water colors to work in our visual learning journal. It is a great tool that students love.
