A Colorful Place to Sit!

My students need an interactive rug in English and Spanish. This rug would benefit my students in their learning. My students love learning both languages and this rug will help them tremendously!

My Students

I am a headstart teacher for 3, 4 and 5 year olds. They come from very poor families and I love giving them all I can. My children love coming to school every day and are so eager to learn. The children enjoy listening to a variety of stories and want to be read to all the time.

My students don't have many materials at their homes, including books!

I want to fill my classroom with the materials to help them enhance their learning and then go home and talk to their families about what they learned in school that day.

My Project

The rug that I chose will help my 3, 4 and 5 year olds learn both English and Spanish. The children sit on the rug during morning circle and learn-we do a morning song, calendar, and weather in both languages. With this rug, the children will have help with learning their colors and numbers in both languages.

We also do many language/literacy activities that this rug would be so beneficial to their learning.

This rug would be perfect for playing learning games in both languages! My students love playing teacher and they will use this rug to assist their friends with their learning.
