These highly energetic sixth graders are more visually inclined and learn best when physical objects, bright colors and when a warm an inviting classroom is accessible to help them make sense of problem-solving. I, therefore, desire to utilize effective best practice strategies that will allow me to meet their learning strengths and give them the best opportunity to continue to grow and develop in their conceptual understanding.
We are a Title I school, with students with diverse learning and developmental abilities.
Differentiation is crucial for such students who come from a variety of elementary schools with limited resources to meet their learning needs. Sometimes it is as simple as color coding handouts. Furthermore, they come from various cultures and backgrounds and will benefit from being exposed to the world that they have yet to experience.
Therefore, when they are engaged with resources and learning experiences outside of their cultures and socio-economic realms, they will become more well-rounded and positioned to be successful in their 21st-century learning experiences.
My Project
This printer will allow my classroom to come alive with color.
More appealing anchor charts, desk plates and color coded handouts for easy reading and differentiation will make for a productive learning environment.
Students will be able to create projects with programs like Google Docs, Excel, Word, Publisher, Wordles and have a final document that will be eye catching. The use of this printer will not only allow students to showcase their effort but will also boost their pride with a beautifully finished project.
Thank you for your time and consideration of supporting my classroom and my students.
