Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
77% of students say color helps them remember what they read more easily.
My students come from a high-poverty neighborhood with a very diverse range of home structures: nuclear, single parent, foster and migrant, to name a few.
My students love to be at school and enjoy learning, especially when the activities are hands-on. Many of my students are English Language Learners that attend a public school in the Los Angeles area. They are always excited to experience any kind of technology that I am able to bring to my class.
My Project
My students created a book creator project but the pages were black and white. I think with color ink we can enhance the beauty of their projects. I also want to create colorful brochure for an Open House project. Color ink can also help with the creation of posters for the classroom. A recent survey suggests that students not only prefer color to be part of their classroom learning experience, they understand its importance in helping them learn. In fact, 77% of students from grades 3 to 12 enthusiastically agreed that using more color in printed learning materials can help. They are able to focus on what information is important, remember key facts and information and be more interested in their work.
Schools are reluctant to increase the use of color printing because of its traditional high cost and perceived difficulty to manage.
I know for sure that this color ink will help change our room environment. It will make it better. Please help us get this color ink.
