Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have an SEI ( Structured English Immersion) classroom. I have thirty-one beautiful outstanding students. My students have many great qualities, some of the qualities that they have in common are discipline and determination to learn. We are a wonderful school; however, we are a high-needs school. Eighty-six percent of our students are in the free and reduced-price lunch program.
Although we have a lot to overcome, we are dedicated to the success of all students.
This school year one of my goals is to provide my students with what they need. Last year I struggled a lot to print individualize materials for my students, because unfortunately, in our classroom we do not have a printer.
My Project
A printer is essential in a classroom, we print papers on daily basis. This requested Brother digital color printer and IKONG and Horizon toner ink will be utilize in many different ways.
As a teacher I need to provide my students with what they need.
In my classroom, I have a variety of beautiful students, ranging from regular ed, ELD, gifted and students with special needs. All of them need all their work modified to their needs. What this means is that every week I need to print out work for individual students.
In my classroom, I also focus on small group teaching which means that weekly I need to print out materials for each of my groups. While I'm working with one small group the other students work on centers. I would love for my students to have color center resources which can get them more engaged and also help my visual learners. This is especially true for my English Language Learners and special service students because they need to see the actual color of the picture in order to understand the true meaning of the picture.
This printer will also be used for my students to print their writing essays and for parent communication, such as monthly calendars and special notes that need to be sent home.
