My Students

I teach 8th Grade US History and one class of 6th-8th Grade Language Support-History to newcomers in Michigan. My students are simply amazing. All of my newcomers and many of my 8th Graders have moved to America from all over the world. Our diversity is one of our greatest strengths, we blend together to become a learning community. It's my honor to help these Middle Schoolers feel like part of a community and find their voice during some of their most difficult years.

My students work on creative problem-solving activities in History, and we would greatly benefit from a collaborative table space.

The small conference room adjacent to my room and a neighboring Science room is in need of a 21st century update, so students can work together to maximize their potential.

My Project

Middle School students need the opportunity to work with peers and create dynamic projects. A whiteboard table will give them the chance to design and plan before implementing ideas into completed activities. My students will be able to spread out and work well together, much easier than on their desks.

Creating large exhibits on trifold boards, like many of my students design as part of their National History Day projects, will be so much easier to complete with a workspace table.
