My Students

I teach in a Title 1 school where seventy-five percent of our students receive free and reduced price lunch. We have highly motivated students that are willing to work hard. They are always extremely excited when they get to learn something new about the world around them! Our school system does not have a lot of excess funds, and our location often limits what our students are exposed to. Often it is up to the school and classroom teachers to provide materials and experiences to teach our students about the world around them.

My Project

It is becoming increasingly difficult to get and maintain students' attention in the classroom. These Dot and Dash robots will help to keep students engaged while learning important life skills. Coding and robotics will help my students develop the critical skills of collaboration, problem-solving, and persistence.

These robots will inspire my students by giving them the opportunity to imagine and invent.

The Dot and Dash robots encourage hands-on play and learning to make creative problem-solving concrete and tangible. These robots can also be used to make cross-curricular connections in social studies, science, math, and language arts. Dot and Dash will help me establish a foundation for 21st century learning.
