I teach Academic Intervention Services to students in grades K-5.
I encourage my students to know that they are readers.
“Today a reader, tomorrow a leader.” -Margaret Fuller.
Our rural elementary school is in upstate New York has a student population of three hundred and fifty students. Students who are at risk of failing the New York State Assessments and students who are having difficulty academically are recommended to receive Academic Intervention Services. That's where my room comes into play.
My students are hardworking and imaginative young learners. They strive everyday to improve all areas of their literacy deficiencies. My students are all very eager to learn and love coming to school. They are independent, hardworking and compassionate.
My Project
In the reading room, which is shared with another reading teacher, has more than sixty students who enter each day. These students share and use all the same reading materials. In order to keep these students healthy and active to keep coming, we need to keep our room clean. Please help fund our cleaning supply project to help the students stay healthy! The requested cleaning supplies will be used towards all of their manipulatives, the bathroom, sink and can be used on the furniture that they sit on. It will be put to good use! Help us keep our students happy, healthy and in school.
