My students need various sanitizing items to keep germs from spreading and making them sick. The snacks will allow them to take the focus off their growling tummies and back on to the work at hand.
Serving a large population of low income students, we are constantly fighting an uphill battle. In order to prepare students for post high school experiences, we must give them all the tools they need in the four short years we have with them. In order to do this, we must have the necessary tools. I am blessed with a resilient group of individuals and I want to give them every opportunity I can to succeed in life.
We are serving a rural community where jobs are limited.
Most parents must travel for work which also limits their time to devote to their children, which is why it is ever so important to focus on helping these students become well-rounded individuals when they leave this building.
My Project
"The attendance rate is important because students are more likely to succeed in academics when they attend school consistently. It's difficult for the teacher and the class to build their skills and progress if a large number of students are frequently absent." One of the biggest reasons of absence is sickness. With 90 students filtering through a classroom a day, there are infinite amounts of germs being spread, making it more likely for students to become sick.
By having adequate sanitizing products in the classroom, we can do our part to stop the spread of germs.
This will help kids stay healthy and focused on the learning at hand, instead of on the struggles of dealing with sickness. I've also included easy snacks that can be dispersed to those kids who didn't have a chance to eat breakfast or didn't quite have enough for lunch. The storage tote will be used to store snacks to ensure they are filling the bellies of my students and not rodent families. Struggling with a hungry stomach can be just as distracting as being sick!
