I teach first grade at a Title I school. Our student population has 100% free lunch and breakfast. This year I will be teaching inclusion classes as far as I know. Our class sizes are around 20-25 students. I try to provide as many supplies as I can for my students. I love my school and I love my students. I try to provide fun and meaningful experiences for them. I have tried to find ways to stretch our supplies and provide a safe, fun environment.
My students need a clean place to sit while they learn. If I can’t get a carpet they will be sitting on the tile floor. They are in first grade and should feel comfortable. I have tried to buy as much for my class as I can out of my own pocket, but I cannot get a rug for them on my own. This will last me and my future classes for many years. I know myself and my class would be very grateful for a place they could sit. We love to dance, read, grow, and learn as a group.
