Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My kindergartners, while among the youngest in our school community, will be working just as hard as the big kids! Their first exposure to schooling is critical in creating a life-long love of learning. My goal is to have students enter as the little kids and emerge as articulate thinkers. My diverse learners come from a variety of backgrounds, yet come together to create a community that is unique to our school.
Our neighborhood and school are unique, with nearly one hundred percent of students qualifying for free lunch and several homeless shelters with children being served by our school.
However, we have heart in abundance!
My students are already striving for success! While they may be young, they are already looking toward the future. The Bronx is only the beginning! Your support is appreciated!
My Project
Teachers these days are busier than ever. We're planning, grading, teaching, keeping our students safe, and also working harder than ever to keep them engaged. Needless to say, the classroom environment itself can sometimes fall behind as we're so busy.
The donation of a Cricut machine will help me to transform my classroom into a print rich learning environment that students can utilize as a learning tool.
The Cricut machine is able to transform designs into printed and cut tools that put the traditional die cut machine to shame! I will be able to use the Cricut machine to print labels, engaging bulletin board headlines, and even charts.
Kindergarten students are beginning to explore the world around them through print. The Cricut machine will allow me to ensure that students are able to "read" their classroom and engage with our physical in a space that helps us to grow and learn!
