A Classroom Rug to Transform Our Learning Space!

My students need a classroom rug to help create a comfortable and inviting place to learn.

My Students

Imagine walking into a classroom in the middle of a lesson where about 20 first grade students are all sitting in the front of the classroom, squirming around a bit, and talking to one another. Someone who does not know my students may think that they are disengaged or off task, but that is not the case at all! My students are so excited to learn that they can barely contain their excitement to participate and collaborate with their classmates!

My students are collaborative, creative, engaged and eager to learn.

Our school is located in a rapidly growing town in Western Washington, where students are held to high expectations for both learning and behavior both at home and at school. Students are constantly outside exploring the beautiful outdoors that our region has to offer.

I am so incredibly lucky to teach at a school where students are constantly not only engaged and contributing to our community as a school, but our community as a town as well. My kids are compassionate, generous, and so incredibly loving and I am so glad to able to call myself their teacher.

My Project

I am a firm believer that a classroom needs to be a warm, safe, inviting place for students. I am committed to doing this in my own classroom, but I need your help. I am extremely blessed to have a classroom filled with natural light and plenty of space for students to learn throughout the day in different areas of my classroom. One place where students spend a lot of there time is in the front "meeting area" of our classroom. A lot of whole group instruction occurs here, as well as storytime, our morning and afternoon meeting, small groups, DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) time, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) time, and more. While this area of my room has plenty of space for students, it is missing something major - a beautiful classroom rug that helps anchor this whole area of our room.

By contributing to my project, you will help create an inviting, comfortable, and beautiful space for my students to learn, collaborate, create, and explore.

The beautiful bright leaf print rug will not only brighten up my classroom but will also hopefully remind my students of the beautiful Pacific Northwest outdoors that they are surrounded by every day. This beautiful classroom rug is not only large enough to fit all of my students (and more) comfortably but is also so well made that it will last for years and years to come - which means so many future students will also benefit from your contribution. Thank you so much for considering donating whatever you can to my project - every penny helps! My students and I are so incredibly thankful and hope to enjoy this amazing classroom rug for many years!
