Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you have a book from your childhood that you couldn't wait to share with your children? That's what my students are discovering now! They have a basic classroom library, but it's not big enough for each child to have several books to fall in love with.
I teach first grade in a suburban Tile 1 school.
Several of my students are English Second Language learners and need a print rich environment in order to support their learning. My students enjoy reading and love to exchange books in our current library. But they need more. They are on a quest to find books that they love and interest them. They are fabulous at sharing their thoughts with one another and enjoy passing along a great book.
My Project
Your donation will continue to help my students foster a love of reading. The print rich environment will aid in their learning. They'll have more resources to help them grow as readers and eventually writers! They'll be able to choose books at their level, read them, and share them with their friends.
