This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students' IEP goals call for a computer. However, my classroom does not have computers. I want to be able to give them the opportunity to access a computer, to complete their IEP goals, and to research places for their post-secondary education and employment.
My students are a group of 14-18 year old boys who have been diagnosed with Autism or Cognitive Impairments.
They are extremely sweet and are always hard at work. They all have different career aspirations: from a doctor to a computer engineer. I want them to be able to complete their IEP goals that call for a computer and allow them to research their future careers.
My Project
A laptop will allow my students to become more tech-savvy in this ever-increasing technological world. It will allow them to compose pieces of writing for publication, give them access to educational games, and allow them to research their future careers.
A computer really changes the classroom dynamics.
It gives students access to technology that they can use in the real world.
A computer would also allow my students to be creative in their writing and be more apt to write freely.
