This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are the most caring and creative bunch of kids. They support and care for each other as close friends do. Their curiosity enables them to soak up knowledge like a sponge and use opportunities to connect their school life to their home life.
Every child is someone's whole world.
They are so responsive to each others feelings, just as you would see in a family. That's what makes my classroom my home away from home.
My Project
These materials, a fort builder, activity mats, sing along read along CDs, shelves, science and math manipulatives, journals, and wiggly eyes, will allow students to think critically and logically. They will be able to use materials such as the magnets to explore opposites and draw conclusions from experimenting with them.
Building a connection between school and real world experiences will make students more eager to learn.
A lot of times we fail to realize how much children really do see and mimic what they see. Providing materials such as play money or human x-rays allow students to see the world through their eyes. Let's allow them to soak up the knowledge while they are so eager to learn.
