My Students
Our school is a small, rural elementary school located in the beautiful foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Twenty-three percent of our students receive free or reduced lunches. Though we are rural, we are part of the second largest school district in Nevada.
Because our region is rapidly growing and our student population has increased, our school added a second 4th grade classroom--ours!
Our classroom provides a safe, respectful, and responsible learning environment for all students to grow academically and personally.
My Project
I am requesting the donation of one HP Chromebook for our classroom. This Chromebook will make our student to technology ratio almost 3:1.
Chromebooks in the elementary classroom greatly support student learning and teacher instruction by providing the opportunity of immediate access to up-to-date digital information, reference tools and engaging websites.
My students work with Chromebooks both independently and in collaborative teams developing critical 21st century skills.
We use Chromebooks throughout our school day in all areas of content—researching, writing, creating digital presentations, publishing and using individualized websites such as DreamBox, ReadWorks and RAZ-Kids to support and extend student learning.
