My Students

I teach amazing elementary students in an urban setting. Many students are first generation Americans with many different ethnicities and languages. My classroom has a wide range of abilities and skills, and I strive to encourage my students' innate curiosity to help them find answers to their own questions.

My 20 students have adversities of their own, but still find ways to focus on their studies and learn despite the various challenges their lives.

All students in my classroom receive free breakfast and lunch because of their families socioeconomic status.

My Project

We are requesting a Chromebook to type their essays, and learn basic skills! My students will be able to type and publish their essays, and use computer programs that help them practice basic skills in reading, spelling, and math. These programs are catered to my students' specific needs to help them learn their multiplication facts, the core components of the math lesson and basic spelling patterns.

I have a limited number of computers and having access to an additional one would greatly lesson technology struggles.

Many students lack access to internet and technology at home. By using a computer in school, they are getting additional differentiated instruction as well as the opportunity to become more technologically literate.
